This was a great movie that gave insight into many of the realities we experience in relationships. It did a good job of questioning people's trust, honesty, and relational maintenance skills. One thing that I found the most interesting was where people draw the lines of what's good and bad or moral and immoral. For example, Cosimo's reaction to the thought of Lele being Gay was a fascinating moment. He used the excuse of Lele keeping a lie to justify his homophobia and homophobic thoughts. Later in the movie, Pepe brings up that everyone is okay or tolerates homosexuality until there is a homosexual in their group or close family. This is also when Rocco started saying homosexual instead of the F slur. This is very true and evident because Cosimo had this big reaction over something that really didn't concern him and yet the entire time he was keeping the secret that he was having an affair. Cosimo got another woman pregnant and was having sex with another woman in the friend group. In this case, being a homosexual went too far but not the unfaithfulness to his friend's wife and his own. This also comes out when Carlotta begins to justify her actions with a married man but does not give the same grace to her husband because it was the "lesser of 2 evils".
That said, I really enjoyed the scenes toward the end of the movie and the ending itself. There were many memorable quotes such as "We are all breakable, some more than others", "If you love someone you'd protect them from anything", and "People should learn how to split up". Each of these instances makes the audience reflect on each one of the relationships but also the relationships that they have with other people. Usually "what if" endings are not my favorite but I thought that having the movie end with the game never actually happening really showed the reality that we all live in. We'd never agree to something like that and yet so much could be revealed. However, time tells and what is in the dark always comes to light so eventually I do think all will be revealed.
