My favorite part of the movie was the symbolism of the eclipse. We saw that the eclipse had barely started at the beginning of the movie when everything was good. But then as the game progressed and more and more secrets came out the eclipse got further and further along. At the darkest part of the movie, it was also the darkest the eclipse would be. Then at the end, we saw that the moon was back to normal and so were the couples. I think this demonstrated that everyone has two sides, like the moo. The bright side is the social side that they present to everyone and show, it's the side that everyone trusts and thinks is a good person. And then people also have their dark side. This is the side that they keep secrets with, use their phone for harm, cheat on their partners, or just don't trust their partner enough to share. I think it does a really good job of showing that everyone has secrets, especially in this day in age where phones control our lives and can easily be locked to avoid strangers' eyes.
I also really loved the ending. I thought the ending did a great job of showing that if the game really did happen, just how many secrets people can hide. Also how bad and devastating those secrets can be. It also demonstrated though that usually at least one or two people are trustworthy. I think Rocco was a good example of this. He wasn't hiding anything and wasn't cheating. The only thing he was hiding was the thing to try and repair his and his wife's relationship. I think it demonstrated this really well when at the end of the movie he says that he didn't want to play the game because he knew people were more breakable than him. I also thought Pepe was a trustworthy character. Yes, he was hiding that he was gay. But that's also a secret that shouldn't be told till the person is ready to tell it. Based on everyone's reactions is clear that he couldn't trust his friends to tell them that. They would have judged him, that's a secret he needed to keep to himself.
I also think this movie reveals something about trust. Should we trust our partners enough to not go through their phones or have their passcodes? Or should we trust them so we can give them our passcodes and believe they won't let us go through it. It did reveal a lot about culture these days and what phones have done to societies.
Lastly, I was just absolutely shocked by the fact that Cosimo had a wife. But also got a girl pregnant, and was also sleeping with his best friend's wife. I was shocked that Bianca was that blind and didn't see the fact that he had two other lovers. I think it shows that we make ourselves blind when we love someone, we don't want to know the truth because we want to keep trusting and loving them. If we know the truth it ruins everything we know about the person.
